Bought PMI @ $0.69
By admin on Apr 2, 2009 in buys, stock trading
I’ve finally got some cash in my trading account so I can get out of “theory” and get into the real world of hopefully making some big gains.
I just bought PMI at $0.69 in after market trading (using Ameritrade.) This is actually the first time I’ve ever done after market trading. Pretty exciting stuff. I think it’s cool that I was able to buy into this at a price lower than the closing price ($0.70)
__
On a side note: I have come up with a new way of screening for stocks actively during the trading day so that I can actually get into them earlier. I’m hoping this will allow me to get in at a lower price without messing around with after market and pre market trades.
Basically I’ll be buying into stocks when they cross my signal during the day instead of waiting until the next open when they’ve often already gapped-up.
__
The big upside to this is that I should be able to get into my stock picks at cheaper prices and thus be able to make more profit. The downside is that I’ll likely get a higher % of “false positives” doing it this way and I may get knocked out of a high % of trades too early.
I plan on updating this site with my picks when I make them. Not that I’m giving advice (please read the disclaimer at the bottom of this site) only because I think some people may find it interesting to follow my picks and see how they do in real time.
I won’t hide my losses. If this stock goes through the floor, you’ll see that.
___
Starting with this stock pick I’m going to be tagging my buy and sell posts with the stock symbol (s) that I’m trading.

Stick to gambling at casino’s instead of buying and selling stocks like they are toys.

worker - on a political/philosophical level you may actually be correct. But I am a bit of a pragmatist. I accept to some extent that this is the reality we live in and this is the game we are playing. If I can make money playing this game then I’m going to do it.
I don’t gamble because the odds are always against you no matter how well you play. If you play the stocks right you can win big.

PMI hasn’t jumped like I was hoping but I’m not getting out yet because the drop doesn’t seem very strong. Volume is low and there seems to be resistance to a further drop. But that being said I have to be ready to pull the trigger.

Pearl - I still think PMI is on the upswing (despite today’s poor performance) and I’d love to be in at 54 cents instead of 69
